The airbrush cosmetics I have always worked with are Temptu. They have an S/B (Silicone Based) formula that is #1. I also use the concealer wheel which is good, but not for every skin type. On someone with drier skin, it flakes slightly. You can add a few drops of the mixing medium in those cases to thin it out. They have a water based formula as well, but I use S/B.
I suggest buying the starter pack, which comes with all 10 colors in the .25 size bottle. That way, you can replenish colors that you need as you go in the 1 oz bottles ($25). You use very little, but it is pricey. The coverage is great, feels like nothing and is , ALMOST smudge proof. Everyone says that is is 100% sweat proof and smudge proof, but that is impossible unless it is glued on. It is THE MOST effective and least likely to get one the brides gown, but any makeup should be treated carefully.
To set the MU, I use the Temptu setting powder, which is triple milled and translucent. It is excellent.
I use the Iwata Silver Jet compressor, which is sufficient for any MUA. Other machines have multiple guns and bigger compressors, but those are better for airbrush artists who need to change colors and use acrylic paint. The Silver Jet is more than enough machine.
The gun you buy should be dual action, which means you can shoot air without fluid to adjust coverage with more control.
Basically, you have to take the class with Temptu to learn the technique, but it is worth it. I posted the website so be sure to check it out.
